A readiness review helps plan the work; it does not replace the official assessment.

Implementation support

Make the changes workable.

We help organise SOPs and records, define practical controls, brief your team and track agreed actions. The focus is consistent practice and evidence that reflects what actually happens at your unit.

Frequently asked questions

Before you begin.

What does ZED mean?

ZED stands for Zero Defect Zero Effect. The Ministry of MSME scheme encourages better quality and sustainable operating practices through Bronze, Silver and Gold certification.

Is my business eligible?

Start with a valid Udyam Registration and review the activity of the unit being assessed. The manufacturing assessment model is the basis of this page. Confirm applicability on the official ZED portal before paying or applying, especially for service or trading businesses.

What are the official certification fees?

The official September 2024 amendment lists Bronze at ₹8,000, Silver at ₹32,000 and Gold at ₹72,000. These are scheme certification costs, separate from any private consulting engagement. Confirm the amount shown on the portal when applying.

What subsidy may I receive?

The scheme guidelines list 80% for micro, 60% for small and 50% for medium enterprises. The women-owned MSME addendum provides 100% subsidy for eligible women-owned MSMEs. Additional support and the joining reward depend on scheme conditions. Verify your contribution on the official portal.

Is Bronze certification free?

The official ZED FAQs describe a ₹10,000 joining reward that can effectively make Bronze certification free if availed. Availability and application conditions must be checked on the official portal. ZED registration itself is free; MSMExpert does not charge a ZED registration fee. Any agreed private preparation support is quoted separately.

Which documents will I need?

Prepare Udyam and business details, applicable registration records, unit and product information, and evidence against the assessment parameters. The exact records depend on the unit and chosen level; use the portal’s current checklist.

Does MSMExpert issue the certificate?

MSMExpert provides preparation, documentation and implementation support. Certification is handled through the scheme’s authorised assessment and certification process. MSMExpert cannot guarantee approval, a subsidy or a particular assessment outcome.

How long will the process take?

Timing depends on your starting practices, evidence gaps, chosen level and assessment scheduling. After a gap assessment we can agree a preparation roadmap; the final assessment timeline is set by the scheme process.
